What "Criminal Minds" Has Taught Me

If you couldn't tell, I like TV. Maybe like isn't the best word. I love TV. Not just any sort of television, though. I stick to pretty much the same channels - HBO, USA, Discovery, TLC, History, and A&E. But very recently, A&E has been my dealer of choice. The drug its been dealing- Criminal Minds.

I seriously cannot stop watching this show. I mean, crime television is good, but this show is great. I even watch episodes they played the day before. It is seriously getting that bad. The other day, A&E switched to CSI:Miami and I contemplated calling the network. That. Bad. But, this new addiction does come with its perks. The cast is terrific and the show is fairly well written. Not only that, but it has taught me or reinforced a few concepts.

  • Lock your door. Seriously, lock your door.

  • Always have an escape route besides the front door.

  • Little kids can't always be trusted.

  • Don't walk around your campus alone at night (if you can).

  • Always, ALWAYS bet on the nerd.

  • Sociopathic and sadistic killers aren't easy to pick out (Meaning- they aren't always the guy in a black hat).

  • Everyone has a breaking point.

  • Sleep with your windows closed.

  • Derrick Morgan is a teddy bear.

  • Dating an FBI agent would be awesome.

  • Don't hook up your personal computer to the FBI's wifi.

  • Doing the right thing doesn't always feel awesome.

  • Bad things happen to good people.

  • Some people are just out of their Vulcan mind.

  • Be nice to everyone.

  • Fight back.

  • There is always someone smarter than you.

  • Brave men don't always wear armor. Sometimes they wear cardigans and have an eidetic memory.

  • Women can be serial killers, too.

  • Wheels are always up in thirty.

Love,

Heldie
